For as long as he can remember, Minneapolis based drummer, Alexander Young has always been soft-spoken. His drumming, however, has been his communication device since he started studying percussion in the 5th grade (1995). Since then, he has been honored to perform and/or record with such artists as This World Fair, Danielle Thrush, Alicia Wiley, Ari Herstand, Will Hutchinson, Breanne Düren, Joel Hanson, Backstories, Bill Mike, Lauren Redpath, Dan Musselman, Cory Wong Quartet, Brenda & The Holsum Family Fiscal Planner, and countless others. He has also performed with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, the Children’s Theater Company, Celebration Church, Easter Lutheran Church, and Westwood Community Church. He has also performed in clinics with Joe Lovano and SO Percussion. He has drawn on his wide array of influences and instructors to learn to speak fluently in each of the many styles and situations.
